Connections with China March-April 2011

British Council funded my China trip from March to April 2011 as part of my initial research and visited, Beijing, Shanghai, Chongqing and Hong Kong. Part of my trip was to develop China partners and consolidate and secure links with key organisations.

Meetings took place with Art Directors, Curators, Universities and Directors from the British Council and the Art and Climate Change team. The aim of the project is to develop intercultural relations between the countries and engage with local artists from Uk and China as well as environmental advocates and echo business. Response from partners was very positive and with the potential to develop the project to coincide part of it with the British Council China Now UK event next year and the Cultural Olympiad.

I have also been successful raising seed funding from the Arts Council who is supporting further development and research of the project to secure funding and cultural partners in UK.
